Students interested in medical careers:

If you are planning on applying for professional schools such as medical school, dental school, etc., you will need to obtain summary letter of evaluation from a special committee. Students who plan to graduate from Penn State Altoona will need a letter from the Penn State Altoona Health Professions Committee. Students should contact the committee coordinator (Mary Kananen, mkk5@psu.edu) as soon as possible to discuss what this entails. Requests for letters must occur by the middle of your Junior year, so do not put this off. Please sign up to obtain any information relevant to professional school preparation by visiting www.altoona.psu.edu/academics/healthcare_default.php.

Free practice MCAT, GRE, LSAT, GMAT, OAT, DAT and PCAT to be offered November 6th. Registration for may be found at www.jotform.com/form/2584322423.

Penn State Altoona and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine have entered into articulation agreements for early acceptance into LECOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program or School of Pharmacy. This means that acceptance into the program guarantees your admittance into medical or pharmacy school provided that you meet certain requirements.

Early Acceptance Medical Program (4+4 or 3+4 track)
Penn State Altoona undergraduate students accepted into the program will be enrolled jointly by Penn State Altoona and by LECOM. The Early Acceptance Program is designed to facilitate the admission of Penn State Altoona students into LECOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. Once recommended by Penn State Altoona, LECOM will interview the student within the first two years of being enrolled at Penn State Altoona. Students interviewing successfully will be offered a provisional acceptance to LECOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. Upon meeting the criteria for final acceptance, they will matriculate at the LECOM campus of their choice.

Pharmacy Program (3+3 / 3+4)
Under this joint Agreement between LECOM and Penn State Altoona, select undergraduate students who have successfully completed specific course work at Penn State Altoona may continue their education in pharmacy at LECOM.

Penn State Altoona students interested in these program should contact Mary Kananen at mkk5@psu.edu.
