The "Go-60" Program
A Golden Opportunity for Persons 60 Years of Age or Older
The "GO-60" Program provides tuition-free enrollment in selected day or evening credit courses numbered through 399. Go-60 students may register on a space available basis. The current tuition rate is required to register for 400-level courses. "GO-60" students are exempt from fees/charges for course "add/drop" actions. All "GO-60" students will be required to pay the current non-refundable computer and activity fee assessed to all students. For 2006-2007, the computer fee for less than 5 credits is $69; 5 to less than 9 credits, $149; 9 or more credits, $202. The activity fee for less than 5 credits is $17; 5 to less than 9 credits, $41; 9 or more credits, $54.
To qualify for membership in "GO-60," applicants must be Pennsylvania residents, former Penn State students, or former Penn State employees; be at least 60 years of age at the time of enrollment and be retired or employed less than 20 hours per week; meet the specified course prerequisites and follow established rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to all students.
"GO-60" students may audit a credit course, which means the student follows the regular registration procedure, but does not receive a grade for the course. "GO-60" students who wish to audit a course must notify the Registrar's Office, E130 Smith Building, at the time of course registration.
"GO-60" students may purchase all required textbooks and course materials from the Campus Bookstore. Applications for "GO-60" are available from the Adult Center;
C112 E. Raymond Smith Building.
