Adult Learner Computer Skills Training Program
Supper will be held in room 159 LRC from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Classes will be held in room 201 Holt from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

September 4, 11, 18, and 25 Thursday
The Adult Learner Computer Skills Training Program is devised to provide computer skills training to both currently enrolled and incoming adult learners at Penn State Altoona. The focus is on what adults have requested and identified as needed areas: Introduction to Computers, Navigating eLion and Angel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Utilizing Eudora/Webmail. Real Estate Fundamentals
Classes held at the Devorris Downtown Center
Cost: $225
August 25 - October 16 5:20 PM – 7:20 PM Monday and Thursday
This basic course is designed to acquaint the student with the foundation of language, principles, and laws that govern the business of real estate in Pennsylvania. Emphasis is on the underlying concepts of land, property, rights in the realty and the means, methods, and laws that govern the conveyance of these rights.
The Real Estate classes both use the same textbook. There is a one-time fee of $45.00 for the book which can be paid with the registration or at the first class.
Real Estate Practice
Classes held at the Devorris Downtown Center
Cost: $225
October 20 - December 11 5:20 PM – 7:20 PM Monday and Thursday
These introductory courses cover all facets of the business and emphasize the work of a real estate agent in residential brokerage. The real estate transaction examination is designed to provide a working knowledge of the forms and documents used (includes the related math).
Nurse Aide Course
Class held at Homewood in Martinsburg
Cost: $625
September 2 - October 30 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Students graduating from the Nurse Aide program will receive a certificate of completion from Penn State Altoona and will have the option to take the NNAAP (National Nurse Aide Assessment Program exam) after the program’s conclusion. The fees for the tests are in addition to the fee for the course.
Students must have 2-step mantoux and physical completed prior to first day of class.
Registered Nurse Refresher
Class held in the Sheetz Family Health Center
Cost: $1200
August 18 - September 11 Monday - Friday
PHR/SPHR Certification Review Course
Class held in the Sheetz Family Health Center
Cost: $925 or $849 for SHRM members
September 18 - November 20 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thursdays
The SHRM Learning System Course is designed to provide you with an overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).
