Twelve students from Ivyside Pride will perform in Vienna, Austria, this December with American composer Andrew T. Miller's cantata "The Birth of Christ."
Miller himself visited the campus in October to audition students, as well as Ivyside Pride director Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber, assistant professor of music, who will play the role of Elizabeth. The performances will take place December 18-19, 2013, at St. Stephen's Cathedral. They will be broadcast live throughout Europe and a recording will air later in the United States on PBS.
This inspiring musical celebration, through Moving Ahead Productions in New York, brings the Christmas story to vivid life as never before. Through song, the timeless characters beloved the world over: Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zechariahs, and the shepherds reveal their humanity and passion.
