Winter Plunge

The Event

The event is a project of the Penn State Altoona Alumni Society and is under the direction of the Society’s Board of Directors. One of the objectives of the Society is to foster cooperation between alumni, students, and the community through projects and activities that support and enhance student life and our community. A major emphasis has been on sponsoring scholarships and a number of special projects supporting students throughout the year. The Society is always looking for ways to develop programming that brings alumni and students together for causes that assist and help others. The Winter Plunge is a special event that will not only support the philanthropic causes of both groups, but also foster a lasting relationship between students and alumni.

The 2013 Winter Plunge - a first for Penn State Altoona - was definitely a crowd pleaser! Make plans now to participate and/or support Winter Plunge Weekend 2014 scheduled for January 24-26, 2014. A full weekend of activities is being planned and more information will be available soon.

The funds raised through the Winter Plunge benefit Penn State Altoona Benefitting THON and Penn State Altoona Alumni Society Scholarships and Programming. Click here for more information about these causes.
