Dual Enrollment

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

Dual Enrollment Procedures for Seniors:

  1. Discuss courses and schedule with your high school counselor, and ask counselor for a letter of support.
  2. Decide if release time is needed. If so, arrange for release time.
  3. Arrange for SAT scores, counselor letter, and high school transcript to be sent to Eric Biddle, Office of Admissions, Penn State Altoona, 3000 Ivyside Park, Altoona PA 16601.
    By May 1 for Fall enrollment, and by September 1 for Spring enrollment.
  4. Arrange with DUS Office (949-5084) to take English Placement Test.
  5. Attend advising session and register for classes. Receive parking permit, computer account, student id, and other general information.
  6. Pay your tuition and fees bill, and purchase your books.
  7. Begin your class.

Dual Enrollment for Home Schooled Seniors:

For home schooled high school students of senior standing, you need to contact Eric Biddle, Assistant Director of Admissions, at 814-949-5560 or EDB4@psu.edu to determine eligibility for enrollment.

Once approved, follow same steps as for other seniors.

Tuition with 50% graint-in-aid (based on 2008-09 tuiotion):

Fees
  • Information technology fee for less than 5 credits= $78
  • Information technology fee for 5-8 credits= $170
  • Parking fee for less than 11 credits= $25
  • Facilities fee for less than 5 credits= $31
  • Facilities fee for 5-8 credits= $75
  • Student Activity fee for less than 5 credits= $23*
  • Student Activity fee for 5-8 credits= $56*

*Student activity fee is waived for dual enrollment students who come from a school district that has a formal agreement with Penn State Altoona.

Students may take up to 8 credits per semester; 24 total credits for an academic year.
