The Latin American Student Organization
The Latin American Student Organization (LASO) is a social-intellectual supportive organization which is designed to promote cultural awareness in the College community. LASO focuses on articulating the issues and concerns that impact Latina/o students at Penn State Altoona. Through its sponsorship of numerous cultural and social activities, LASO brings the cultures of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Central America, South America, and other Spanish speaking provinces to Penn State Altoona.
LASO celebrates and sponsors National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-0ctober 15) where the achievements of Latinas/os around the world are highlighted. LASO also participates in state/national conferences and is represented and involved in many other university-wide events.
