Religious Affairs

Under the direction of the Division of Student Affairs, the staff of the Penn State Altoona Campus Ministry welcomes you to the College. Our goals are to help nurture spiritual values, to encourage students to maintain and develop their faith, to provide an open setting for discussion of religious, moral and social problems, and to cooperate with other campus groups in providing for a holistic approach to personal and community growth.

The Catholic Campus Coordinator is Mary Claire Curtis and the Catholic Chaplain is Rev. Chinemere (Father Ralph) Onyeocha.

The Protestant Chaplain is Rev. Henry Hansard.

International Worship services are provided by Rev. Dr. Mlen-Too Wesley.

Bill Wallen of the Greater Altoona Jewish Federation will provide services for our Jewish students.

The Altoona Collegiate Outreach representatives are Charity Haubrich, Curt Wright, and Rachel Foose.

On Campus Religious Services

Catholic Mass is celebrated on Sunday at 7PM in the Edith Davis Eve Chapel.

Protestant services are offered once a month at 2:30PM. The following are the dates for Fall 2008:

January 18th
February 15th
March 22nd
April 19th

International Worship is celebrated each Sunday during the academic year at 1pm in the Edith Davis Eve Chapel.

Unitarian services are offered the first and third Sundays of the month starting at 10:00AM with religious education, service from 10:30AM to 11:30AM and social from 11:30AM to 12:00PM.

Campus ministry also sponsors weekday social events, retreats and service opportunities, etc. Check the campus ministry offices in the Edith Davis Eve Chapel for more information.

Local churches and synagogues provide additional opportunities for worship, fellowship, and service for students. Further information regarding religious programs is available from the campus ministry offices in the Chapel.
