Make sure to check in with the Office of Student Life so we can count you as attending and give you all the information you’ll need to make your Family Weekend a success! Family Weekend T-shirts will be available for free, while supplies last!

Sign up for different events to guarantee your ability to participate and, for those who have pre-registered for meals, pick up your tickets for the weekend.

Coffee House & Open Mic Night
Come, relax, and hear our students show off their talent, or if you have a talent, feel free to take the stage!

Pond View Lounge, Slep Student Center

Family Spirit Bingo
This event is free and will surely be one of your favorite events of the weekend! Your chance of winning one of our great prize PSU-themed baskets is significantly higher if you attend! Arrive early to guarantee yourself a seat! Don’t be afraid to show up decked out in your favorite PSU gear.

Minions
Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlett Overkill, a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world.

Come watch a free movie with us and grab some candy and popcorn too! Come as you are-- grab your favorite blanket and bunny slippers and get ready to giggle with Stuart, Kevin, and Bob!

Don’t have your entire weekend be a “cheat” weekend! Show up in your running shows and clothes and bring a bottle of water! Members of the running club will show you around their favorite 5K course on campus. Feel free to break away when you’ve had enough!

Is running not your thing? Then relax, stretch, and unwind with an hour of rejuvenating yoga!

Hike Seminar Forest
Sponsored by the Outdoor Adventures Club
Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes and bring a bottle of water. The OAC will lead you on a hike in our beautiful backyard. The hike is steep, so please only participate if you believe you are able to make the hill.

Meet at the Laurel Pavilion

Paint your Own Pottery
Hosted by Playtime Pottery in Hollidaysburg, PA
Show us your creative side! We will provide the pottery pieces and paint. You will paint your masterpiece and leave it here. A few weeks from the event we will contact your Penn State Altoona student to pick up your finished product.

Make sure to sign up at Registration! Only 75 spots are available.

Enjoy the beauty of our campus while having some fun with your favorite people. We will have tons of great activities for you to participate in:

  • Turbo Tubs & Wrecking Ball Amusement Rides
  • See how high you can go on the In-Line Extreme Air attraction, if you dare!
  • Try out the inflatable obstacle course, Chaos!
  • Play some of your favorite carnival games
  • Listen to the sounds of Altoona’s favorite 80s/90s cover band, R2B2 from 12-3.
  • Canoe on the pond from 1-4.
  • Learn a new recipe from Chef Lorber with his cooking demonstrations.
  • Get keepsakes of your weekend with both a photo keychain (for free) at the Lion Shrine or a round in the photobooth.
  • Challenge your family at your favorite tailgating games
  • Enjoy some Penn State Creamery Ice Cream
  • Enjoy the various offerings from student organizations like Altoona Benefitting THON, Residence Hall Association, and more!
