Health Advisory Board
The Health Advisory Board (HAB) is a three sub-committee board with a reporting structure through a steering committee to the Chancellor. The committees are composed of faculty, staff, students and community members. Sub-committees include: Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention, and Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. The Peer Education Program at the Penn State Altoona Health and Wellness Center provides a unique opportunity to foster the health and wellness of all students by offering innovative, effective outreach activities and by shaping quality Health and Wellness Center services. This select group of students will gain advanced communication, facilitation, and leadership skills in this position and will be involved in the planning, development and implementation of outreach activities. Peer educators will use various outreach methods to promote health behaviors among fellow students.
