Elizabeth Seymour (part-time lecturer in Communications, Anthropology, and History) was awarded the part-time lecturer award in 2006.

Erin Murphy (assistant professor of English) received the 2006 Foley Poetry Award from America magazine for her poem "Covetous." The poem was published in the June 5, 2006 issue of America, which sponsors annually the Foley Poetry Award, given in honor of William T. Foley. Murphy is the author of Science of Desire (Word Press, 2004) and a second poetry collection, Too Much of This World, forthcoming from Mammoth Books.
