Ronald L. Mallett

Outstanding Alumni Award
Recognizes alumni of the college who have attained a significant level of accomplishment in their careers or contributed significantly to the betterment of society. Candidates for the award are individuals who possess a record of achievement that distinguishes them as leaders in their profession and/or community.

Mallett is a professor of physics at the University of Connecticut with primary research interests in general relativity and gravitation, black holes, relativistic astrophysics, and quantum cosmology. He is regarded as an authority on time travel, a subject of personal fascination that began when he was a youth.

Mallet has written a book entitled Time Traveler, A Scientist's Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality.

A faculty member at Connecticut since 1975, he began his undergraduate studies at Penn State Altoona and earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from the Eberly College of Science.
