Awards and Honors
Marieta Staneva's (assistant professor of geography) study abroad proposal "International Environments and Sustainability (IES)-Bulgaria" has been rated as excellent and awarded $2,800 by the International Programs at Penn State in support of Student Group Travel.
"Glory Days: A Bruce Springsteen Symposium," organized and created by Penn State senior conference planner Mark Bernhard, with co-coordinators Jerry Zolten (associate professor of communication arts and sciences) and Ken Womack (associate professor of English), has received the UCEA Outstanding Program Award. These awards honor credit and non-credit continuing education programs (one in each category) at UCEA member institutions for excellence in achieving their educational objectives.
Laura Rotunno (assistant professor of English) won the INCS Essay Competition Award for, "The Long History of 'In Short': Mr. Micawber, Letter-Writers, and Literary Men," originally published in Victorian Literature and Culture 33 (2005). She was the winner of the INCS Essay Competition for essays published in 2005.
