Shake Your Groove Thing
Penn State Altoona alumni and community members got their groove on at the Penn State Altoona Alumni Society's Midwinter Dance in February. Nearly 300 party-goers braved the brisk winter weather to travel to Altoona's Bavarian Hall for the annual event, featuring local band U.S. Sound Theatre.
Mardi Gras was the theme of the evening, with beads, masks and spirit abound! The event raised more than $1,000 for the Alumni Society. Money raised from this event funds Society programs such as the annual Student Award for Outstanding Service, an endowed scholarship at the college, and student outreach programming throughout the year.
