S&T Bank Gift Supports Communications Program at Penn State Altoona
S&T Bank has provided a $10,000 gift to the college that will be applied toward the purchase of greatly-needed videos cameras used by students in the communications degree program. Not only will worn-out cameras be replaced, but new cameras also will be purchased, allowing more communications classes to be added to the fall 2006 schedule.
In just three years since the creation of the bachelor of arts degree in Communications, more than fifty students have enrolled, well above initial projections. The major offers twenty-five to thirty classes per semester, including video production, online and graphic design, advertising, journalism, media studies, and audio production. In addition to students majoring in the program, communications courses serve 300 to 500 students each semester.
