Student-Athletes Recognized for Academic Acheivement
Seventy-four Penn State Altoona student-athletes, constituting nearly half of all eligible student-athletes, were recognized by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for their academic achievement during the 2005-2006 academic year. Students must have earned a 3.2 cumulative GPA to be listed on the Academic All-Conference Team. Student-athletes are eligible in all seasons in which they participate on a varsity team. States Director of Athletics Fredina Ingold, "We are very proud of the time and dedication our student-athletes put into academics. It is a challenge to juggle games and practices with classes and schoolwork. It speaks volumes about our athletes' desire to excel in both areas."
