Class Notes

Ronald E. Wallace, Ed.D '61, of Jacobus, Pa., retired after 34 years in the education profession and now is part owner of a ceramic tile business in Emigsville, Pa. Married with two children and three grandchildren, Ronald writes, "I owe a great deal of gratitude to Penn State Altoona. Bathhouse U. was my second home. Thank you Altoona Campus." Brady J. McGuire '65a, of Sherman, Tex., retired in June, 2000, completing a 35-year career as a manufacturing engineer with Procter & Gamble and Black & Decker-Kwikset Lock companies. He plans to travel with his wife of 29 years, Jane, and devote time to his interests: model railroading, writing, and golfing. (Penn State Altoona 1964-65)

Barry D. Collins '66a, '72 of Kernersville, N.C., has been promoted to Senior Sales Engineer in Lucent Technologies' Emerging Sales Provider Market of North America. (Penn State Altoona 1964-66)

Susannah Cooper '74, of Westborough, Mass., has received a Master's Degree in Technology in Education from Lesley College, Cambridge, Mass. Her son, Collin, currently is attending Penn State Altoona. (Penn State Altoona 1971-72)

Barbara J. (Pierson) Michael '74, '77g, of Pottstown, Pa., is Vice President of the Penn State College of Education Alumni Society Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Alumni/Student Teacher Network at Penn State Berks. (Penn State Altoona 1970-72)

Beth (Eshelman) Myers '76, of Lewistown, Pa., writes that her daughter, Sara, received a B.S. degree in Human Development & Family Studies from Penn State in August, 1999. (Penn State Altoona 1972-74)

John Schraff '83, of London, England, has accepted the position of director of international sales trading for West LB Panmure. A London resident since January, 1998, John is the father of two children: Veronica, 4, and Ashton, 2. (Penn State Altoona 1979-81)

Lisa (Pollisino) Allseits '85, of Mundelein, Ill., and husband, John, celebrated the birth of their first child, Patrick Brandon, on November 10, 1999. (Penn State Altoona 1981-83)

Amy L. Stever '88, '90g, has moved to the Murray Riverland area of South Australia to work for B.R.L. Hardy, the largest wine producer in the Southern Hemisphere. Previously, she was an Admissions Officer for Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine. (Penn State Altoona 1984-86)

Wes Bumbarger '89, of Howard, Pa., has been appointed Financial Officer for Computer and Information Systems, Development and Alumni Relations, and Student Affairs at Penn State's University Park Campus. Wes and wife, Joni, are owners of GraphicWorks!, a graphic design firm. They have two children: Sage, 5, and Wyatt, 19 months. (Penn State Altoona 1983-85)

Brenda (Eister) Kleinhenz '90 and husband, John '90, of Whitehall, Pa., celebrated the birth of a son, Jacob Thomas, on March 2, 2000. The couple has two other children: Sean, 5, and Kelly, 2. (Penn State Altoona: Brenda, 1986-88; John, 1985-87)

Karen (Toki) Teklinsky '90, of Windber, Pa., has received her Master's Degree in Elementary/Middle School Mathematics. Karen and husband, Joseph, are the parents of two sons: Bronko, 4, and Rocco, 2. (Penn State Altoona 1986-88)

Gregory C. Jesteadt, M.D., '92, '96 of Charlottesville, Va., is a resident physician at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in May, 2000, as president of his class. (Penn State Altoona 1988-90)

Nicole (Morris) Stauffer '93 and husband, Jonathan '94, of Elkton, Md., celebrated the birth of daughter, Victoria Hazel, on December 21, 1999. (Penn State Altoona 1988-90)

Brian E. Flowers '95, of Johnstown, Pa., and wife, Michelle, celebrated the birth of a son, Matthew Mark, on May 12, 2000. The couple has another son, Brandon Robert, 3. (Penn State Altoona 1991-95)

Stephanie Seraydarian Oddo '95, of Arlington, Va., launched her own Web design practice Evolucia (www.evolucia.com) in October, 1999. She married Eddie Oddo in June, 1999, in Washington, D.C. (Penn State Altoona 1990-92)

Carol Renee Wakefoose '95, of Winston-Salem, N.C., has been promoted to Contract Compliance Manager for Financial Services Managed Care at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. In August, 2000, she earned her Master of Business Administration/Master of Health Administration Degree from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, N.C. (Penn State Altoona 1986-88)

Wendy (Woolridge) Zolnak '95, and husband, Eric, of Altoona, celebrated the birth of a son, Noah William Russell, on October 17, 1999. (Penn State Altoona 1991-93)

Scott Harris '96, of Jersey City, N.J., is an actor who recently returned home from the national tour of "Victor Victoria." (Penn State Altoona 1992-93)

Phil Tsang '96, of Rockville, Md., is a senior staff member of the MITRE Corporation. He is part of a research and development center at MITRE that performs work for the Department of Defense "C3I." He also serves as a Penn State volunteer admissions counselor and participant in the Alumni Association's Career Lion Link program. (Penn State Altoona 1992-94)

Jason R. Ingram '97, of Newport News, Va., writes that he is fulfilling a lifetime dream as a landscape project manager for Busch Gardens/Water Country U.S.A, in Williamsburg. The Clearfield, Pa. native is responsible for maintaining more than 300 acres of developed landscape. (Penn State Altoona 1993-95)

Greg A. Weitzel '97, of Montoursville, Pa., is Executive Director of the Lewisburg Area Recreation Authority. Greg married Jennie C. Lyon '96 on July 31, 1999, and received his Master of Science degree in Recreation Administration from Illinois State University in May, 2000.
