College Rededicates Dining Facilities
Two names synonymous with quality food service throughout central Pennsylvania now are prominently associated with the dining facility that graces Penn State Altoona's campus. The recent rededication of the facility, now named Port-Sky Café, commemorated the philanthropic vision of Neil and Marilyn (Mickey) Port and Phillip and Rosalind (Roz) Sky, whose roots in the food service industry can be traced to family-owned Sky Brothers, Inc., an Altoona-based food distributor. Generous gifts from the Ports and Skys led to the naming of the dining facility, formerly known as Hickory Court Café. During the renaming process, University officials worked closely with the Ports and Skys to design logos, signage and clothing for Café employees that not only incorporate graphic elements utilized by Sky Brothers, but also reflect the era in which the company flourished.
