CNN Correspondent Addresses Graduates at Spring Commencement Ceremonies
Penn State Altoona celebrated its largest graduating class to date on Saturday, May 10, as 243 students received their degrees, including 127 students enrolled in Penn State Altoona majors.
CNN congressional correspondent Jonathan Karl delivered the commencement address to graduates and their families, friends and guests. He was named a congressional correspondent for CNN in April 2000. Prior to this assignment, Karl was a correspondent for the network covering everything from national disasters to political campaigns. He covered the White House and, during the impeachment and trial of President Bill Clinton, he was based on Capitol Hill. He joined CNN in January 1996 to cover the presidential campaign. While at CNN, Karl has interviewed such newsmakers as Ross Perot, Louis Farrakhan, and Rush Limbaugh. During the course of the impeachment process he interviewed dozens of senators and each of the House Managers.
