College Hosts U.S. Congressional Debate

In one of the more hotly contested primary races this spring, Penn State Altoona played host to the only debate between U.S. Congressman Bill Shuster and Republican Congressional candidate Michael DelGrosso in the Community Arts Center. Moderating the event was Penn State Altoona CEO and Dean Dr. William Cale. The debate was standing-room-only, as almost four hundred faculty, staff, students, and community members attended. The debate was sponsored by the Blair County Chamber in partnership with Penn State Altoona and WTAJ-TV10.

No debate about it!

In an election night nail-biter, incumbent Bill Shuster edged out challenger Michael DelGrosso to win the republican nomination for the Ninth Congressional District. Shuster will face Democrat Paul Politis in the November election.
