Shari Routch, director of university relations, was honored by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce as a "Leadership Blair County Fellow" for 2004.

Established in 1994, the Leadership Blair County program cultivates, develops, and nurtures potential leaders within the community. The program identifies, educates, and motivates the area's promising leaders and prepares them for service to the Blair County community in a variety of important roles. Sponsored by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Blair County boasts 224 graduates and seven Fellows. To date, 14 Penn State Altoona employees have graduated from the LBC program. Routch is a graduate of the LBC Class of 1998 and currently is the chair of the Leadership Blair County program.
