Womack Honored with Fall 2010 Meling Award

Long-time faculty and senior administrator Dr. Kenneth A. Womack received the fall 2010 Kjell Meling Award for Distinction in the Arts and Humanities, at a ceremony at Penn State Altoona's downtown campus, Thursday, October 7.

Womack is professor of English and integrative arts and also serves as associate dean for Academic Affairs. He is the author of numerous works of nonfiction, including Long and Winding Roads: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles. His first novel, John Doe No. 2 and the Dreamland Motel, was published by Switchgrass Books in October 2010. He serves as editor of Interdisciplinary Literary Studies: A Journal of Criticism and Theory and co-editor of Oxford University Press's celebrated Year's Work in English Studies. His movie reviews also appear in the Altoona Mirror.
