Three Volunteers Join Campaign Council

Two former Penn State Altoona professors who provided leadership at the college as academic division heads and an alumnus with an expertise in human resources are new members of the college’s Campaign Council: Dr. Nicholas M. Miskovsky, of State College, and Dr. Valerie N. Stratton, of Altoona. The pair, along with Greggory R. Brunnhuber, of Pittsburgh, formally joined the Council at the November meeting.

Before retiring in 2009, Miskovsky offered nearly four decades of distinguished service to the University as professor of physics and head of the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Penn State Altoona.

Stratton is Associate Professor Emerita of Penn State Altoona. During her 37-year career at the college, she taught a variety of psychology courses and was instrumental in establishing the psychology major in 2003. In addition to serving on the Penn State Altoona and University senates for many years, Stratton was head of the Division of Education, Human Development, and Social Sciences at the college from 2003-2007.

A 1983 Penn State graduate, Brunnhuber is employed by ATK, of Cumberland, Maryland. ATK is a Fortune 500 contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA. Brunnhuber’s career in human resources has been defined by his support for unionized operations in underground and surface mining; building products and timber; metals; chemicals; and aerospace.

Campaign Council’s mission is to assist in raising funds through private support and identifying strategies for development initiatives.
