Ivy Leaf - Fall 2013

Lee Ann De Reus, associate professor of human development & family studies and women studies, and co-founder of Panzi Foundation USA, gave a TEDxPSU talk this spring on “Daring to Make a Difference in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

As a scholar activist, De Reus travels regularly to Panzi Hospital in eastern DRC to conduct research, develop programs for rape survivors, and inform of her advocacy work in the United States. In Rwanda, she conducts a Penn State service project with vulnerable children and widows from the 1994 genocide.

TEDxPSU was brought to the Penn State community in 2010. The mission of the event is to bring together innovative and thought-provoking individuals from the Penn State community and the world to share ideas worth spreading.
