Jonathan M. Jacobs ’85, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was elected president of the Pennsylvania Association of Parliamentarians, a constituent association within the National Association of Parliamentarians. He also received the accreditation of Certified Professional Parliamentarian from the American Institute of Parliamentarians. Jonathan is the only person holding that accreditation in Pennsylvania.
Amy Cotner-Klingler ’93, of Watsontown, Pennsylvania, defended her dissertation on December 10, 2012. Her D.Ed. in administration and leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania was conferred on May 18, 2013. Amy attended Penn State Altoona from 1989 to 1991.
Jennifer ’03 and Brian Grieco welcomed the birth of a future Penn Stater, their daughter Isabella Lucille Grieco, on September 25, 2012, in Altoona.
Jeremy Waltman ’03, is a director and writer from Tacoma, Pennsylvania. His first film, Locomotive, was a “Royal Reel Winner” in the feature competition at the 2013 Canadian International Film Festival, one of numerous festivals where Locomotive will be screened. Waltman is currently directing a new film titled The Retreat. When not in production, he teaches digital media and art at various colleges and universities.
Christian ’04 and Michelle (Templon) Brandt ’04, of Orlando, Florida, celebrated the birth of their daughter Makayla Malibu Brandt on January 18, 2013. Michelle is currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in nursing through Penn State World Campus. She is an assistant nurse manager at Florida Hospital for Children. Christian earned an associate’s degree in computer animation from Full Sail University. He is a video game designer at EA Sports.
Stephen Bayer ’05 and Jessica Strobel, both of Lansing, Michigan, are engaged to be married. A February 2014 wedding is planned.
Stephanie Salome ’05 and Laurence Schiffman were wed December 31, 2012. They live in Arvada, Colorado.
Ashley B. (Richardella) Schroeder ’05, of Brunswick, Ohio, was a nominee for the Highland School District’s 2013 Pride Award. The Highland School Board of Education annually recognizes two individuals—one district employee and one member of the community—for exemplifying extraordinary school spirit. A second-grade teacher at Hinckley Elementary School, Schroeder was nominated for the prestigious award in her first year of teaching in the district.
Thomas J. McGough ’06 and Kristen M. Clemens were wed September 29, 2012. They live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Jenna M. Richardella ’07 and Ryan Rose, both of Abingdon, Maryland, are engaged to be married. An October 5, 2013, wedding is planned.
Susan Black ’08 and Drew Black, both of Claysburg, Pennsylvania, are engaged to be married. A September 21, 2013, wedding is planned.

Angela Lantz ’08, ’12 and Michael Delozier were wed April 6, 2013. They live in East Freedom, Pennsylvania.
Mallary R. Oakes ’08 and Donald C. Hainzey Jr. were wed July 21, 2012. They live in Altoona.
