Barefoot Contessa Dishes
“If it’s so good we have to throw it out before we eat the entire thing, it goes in the cookbook,” explained Ina Garten, of the decision-making process for recipe inclusion in her popular Barefoot Contessa series of cookbooks. Garten entertained more than seven hundred attendees with her wit, wisdom, and inspiration during Penn State Altoona’s fall Speaker Series event at the Blair County Convention Center in early November.
The acclaimed author and television host shared personal insights and perspectives that are familiar to legions of fans who have read Garten’s popular cookbooks and watched her show on the Food Network.
Garten cited fear of failure as her recipe for success. “If I know that I can do it, it’s just not interesting enough for me,” she shared, encouraging the audience to push and challenge themselves—in cooking and in life.
