Chancellor's Ping Pong Challenge

Take on the Chancellor in a ping pong challenge!
Chancellor Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry will once again take on all challengers during a two-hour ping pong marathon on Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Slep Student Center.
The cost to play is a $3 donation to Penn State Altoona Benefitting THON. The Chancellor has agreed to donate an additional $5 for every challenger she faces.

The Letters, Arts, & Sciences program will offer its annual information reception Thursday, February 7 over Common Hour in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center.
Join us for lunch and hear from advisors, alumni, and current seniors about the LAS program and the mechanics of this self-designed, multi-disciplinary B.A. major.

STAR series to feature McKinney on February 7
Karyn McKinney, associate professor of sociology and women's studies at Penn State Altoona, will present "Sociology Through Autobiography: What Students Teach Me in Their Life Stories" on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 12:10 - 1:00 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge of the Slep Student Center. Her informal talk is part of the Spotlight on Teaching and Research (STAR) Series in which faculty share how their research influences their teaching, and vice versa. The series is co-sponsored by the English and Honors programs. Pizza will be served; attendees should bring their own drinks. The event is free and open to the campus community.

Eco-Action pizza party/recruitment meeting set for Feb. 7
Eco-Action will host a pizza party/recruitment meeting on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 12:15 - 1:05 p.m. in room 141 of the Hawthorn Building.
Eco-Action is Penn State Altoona's environmental club. The group hosts numerous activities throughout the year, including the annual Earth Day Celebration.
