College to present annual Earth Day Celebration Apr. 21
Penn State Altoona's Eco-Action will host the annual Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the event will be held outside around the Reflecting Pond and Laurel Pavilion. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Adler gymnasium.
The event will feature bands throughout the day starting with Ragdoll Physic at 11:00 a.m., Backyard Rockers at 12:30 p.m., African Drumming (including a workshop) from 1:45 - 3:00 p.m., and Mysterytrain from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.
At 12:30 p.m., lunch will be provided from Fat Daddy's BBQ. Students wishing to dine must present a valid PSU ID.
The event will also include a rock wall, kids crafts, tye-dye shirts, raffles for wood carvings, student clubs, and "green" vendors.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., "The Lorax" will be shown in the Fireside Lounge of the Slep Student Center. The movie will be followed by guest speakers Dr. Dongell at 1:00 p.m. and Dr. Marshall at 3:00 p.m.
Eco-Action will also be collecting E-Waste, old broken electronics, phones, dvd players, ipods, TVs, and more in the Juniata Gap Parking lot all day.
