Traveling Through Music: Shana Soriano, senior voice recital

Penn State Integrative Arts senior presents voice recital
ALTOONA- Traveling Through Music, a recital by senior Shana Soriano will be performed Thursday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m., in the Paul R. and Margery Wolf-Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The recital will also feature student pianist, Annette Nagle and a duet with assistant professor of music, Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber.
The recital includes pieces by Robert Schumann, Richard Strauss and Reynaldo Hahn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss, Giacomo Puccini, and Leo Delibes, as well as musical theater pieces from Porgy and Bess and West Side Story.
Soriano is a senior integrative arts major in the vocal performance track. She will graduate in May and plans to pursue a master’s degree in choral conducting. Soriano recently performed at the St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna, Austria, as a member of the choir for The Birth of Christ by American composer, Andrew T. Miller. She also performed Duruflé’s Requiem at Avery Fischer Hall in Lincoln Center with the Masterworks Choir, and in the Wolf-Kuhn Theatre with the Ivyside Pride Choir, during which she also conducted the Pie Jesu for the orchestra and soloist. This summer Soriano will attend the Opera Studio of the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
