Sustainability Council Workshop hosts Carrie Lyons, RDN. Sample produce and discuss eating locally. All are welcome to drop in for this event located rain or shine at the Juniata Farmers' Market.
"Eating Your Way to a Sustainable Food System" workshop set for Sept. 25
Penn State Altoona's Sustainability Council will host the "Eating Your Way to a Sustainable Food System" workshop on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 12:45 p.m. in the Rider Parking Lot.
Feast your eyes on late summer Central Pennsylvania bounty as you consider food choices that support a sustainable diet. Carrie Lyons, a registered dietitian nutritionist, will be on hand to share tips and resources and answer questions. You will also have the opportunity to try some locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Plan to stick around after the workshop for the Farmer's Market that runs 2 -6 p.m., also in the Rider Lot.
Interested faculty and staff are asked to RSVP to Erin Nachtman at email@example.com. Drop-ins are welcome during the open discussion that begins at 1:15 p.m.
