This forum is the public's chance to give input on where they work, live, and hang out.

Poetry reading and Hard Freight Cafe set for Oct. 7
Poet Renée Nicholson will read from her work Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Nicholson, assistant professor at West Virginia University, is the author of Roundabout Directions to Lincoln Center, a collection of poems. She was the 2011 Emerging Writer-in-Residence at Penn State Altoona. The poetry reading will be followed immediately by Hard Freight Café, an open mic event. Attendees are invited to read or perform their own work or music, or share a favorite piece of poetry or prose.
The event, sponsored by the English program and Hard Freight, Penn State Altoona’s student literary magazine, is free and open to the public.
Students are invited to submit their works to Hard Freight by midnight, Tuesday, October 7. Up to three entries per student in the categories of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and visual art may be submitted online at http://intranet.altoona.psu.edu/hardfreight.
