Penn State Altoona is partnering with Penn State's Newswire service to offer students, faculty, staff, and community members a new way to find out about the latest news. PSUTXT is a text-messaging service that sends news and information directly to subscribers' cell phones. Please note that individual phone plans may charge for receipt of text messages. However, subscription to the PSUTXT service is free.

Subscribers will have their choice of news feeds including the following:

  • Altoona news: Information about Penn State Altoona emergencies, delays, and cancellations;
  • Emergency notices: University Park weather alerts, campus closings, etc.;
  • Concert information: University Park entertainment news including Bryce Jordan Center concert announcements;
  • Sports alerts: including information about upcoming Penn State, University Park games.

All news feeds are optional. You will only receive messages from feeds that you specifically select. Any cell phone number registered with the service is protected by encryption and will be used exclusively for this service.
