Time Travel Expert to Receive Alumni Fellow Award

ALTOONA, Pa. - Ronald L. Mallett, Ph.D., a 1969 Penn State graduate and former Penn State Altoona student, has been selected to receive the Alumni Association’s Alumni Fellow Award in October. Mallett is a professor of physics at the University of Connecticut and a world-renowned authority on time travel.

The award is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon alumni by the Alumni Association. Since 1973, it has been presented to individuals in recognition of their outstanding professional accomplishments. Approximately twenty alumni of Penn State academic colleges and campuses receive the award annually.

In addition to the awards ceremony at University Park, Penn State Altoona will recognize Mallett with a series of related activities at the college, including opportunities for classroom interaction with students and faculty.

Last fall, Mallett was honored as the inaugural recipient of Penn State Altoona’s Outstanding Alumni Award. He is the author of Time Traveler, a Scientist’s Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality. Plans are underway for the personal memoir to be made into a movie.
