National Coming Out Day Events at Penn State Altoona
The Gay-Straight Alliance and the office of Residence Life at Penn State Altoona will host an LGBTQ event in commemoration of National Coming OUt DayLGBT Month in the TV Lounge of the Slep Student Center on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 12 noon - 3 p.m. The event will feature a small tunnel of LGBTQ history and rights with discussion. A showing of the film "All God's Children" will take place from 12:15 - 1 p.m. and will be immediately followed by an open-mic/read-in from 1 - 3 p.m. titled "What's Your Story?" Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend and share stories about their coming out experiences or the experiences of others. Food and giveaways will be available.
