Lee Ann De Reus, associate professor of human development and family studies and women's studies will serve as guest editor for a 2013 special issue of the Journal of Family Theory and Review titled, "(Re)tooling Critical Feminist Theories for "Doing" Social Justice in Family Research.

The purpose of this special issue is to engage readers in a discussion of how critical feminisms such as critical race, postcolonial, queer theories, and ecofeminisms inform family theory, research, and/or praxis on social justice issues (e.g., maternal mortality, honor killings, genital cutting, human trafficking, disease, hunger, genocide). The goal of social justice is to reduce structural violence and enable the equal participation of all groups in a society that is mutually shaped to meet familie' needs.

More information about the special issue can be found at www.ncfr.org/news/journal-family-theory-review online.
