Race Matters: Navigating the minefield between black and white Americans

Speaker Bruce Jacobs will present "Race Matters: Navigating the Minefield between black and white Americans" on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the TV Lounge of the Slep Student Center.

With plain-spoken clarity on difficult issues, Jacobs encourages people of good will to challenge racism and to work for the kinds of social and economic fairness that benefits us all. He urges people to question the corporate media, to turn off today's "rage talk" shows, and to have real conversations with friends, neighbors and co-workers. In his speaking and in his writings, Jacobs lays out a clear path for citizens to reclaim true discourse.

The event, which will feature refreshments and giveaways, is sponsored by the Office of Institutional Equity, Diversity, and International Student Services.
