CNN contributor, Congolese activisit, and diversity educator to speak February 22

Penn State Altoona welcomes Omékongo Dibinga February 22, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Dibinga, recording artist, CNN contributor, Congolese activist, and diversity educator will present "Be an Upstander, not a Bystander!" He will use his voice to inspire audience members to not only make a change in their own lives but in their communities and throughout the globe.

Dibinga is the director of Free Your Mind Publishing and host of the cable TV talk show Real Talk. He is the winner of the "CNN iReport Spirit Award" and the "Urban Music Award." His motivational book and CD is titled G.R.O.W. Toward Your Greatness! 10 Steps to Living Your Best Life.

The event is free and open to the public. It is Sponsored by Penn State Altoona student organizations B.U.S.T. (Being United for Social Transformation), Black Student Union, Student Activity Fee, and the Gay/Straight Alliance in collaboration with Tyrone Area High School and Panzi Foundation USA.
