Penn State Altoona to host Egyptian Fulbright Scholar

Magda Bagnied, associate professor and head of the Radio and TV Department at Ahram Canadian University in Cairo, Egypt, will speak Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 7 p.m. in room 150 of the Hawthorn Building.

Her presentation, "Egypt: a First Hand View of Revolution" will detail her experiences as a media professional and scholar during the turmoil in Egypt and its aftermath.

Bagnied is the author of U.S. Mass Media: Views from Inside which chronicles her experiences working with U.S. media organizations. She is a regular contributor to Egyptian newspapers and other publications and is host of the award‐winning radio program Stars on Egyptian Land. Bagnied has worked with both ABC and NBC News Cairo Bureaus. She is currently the Fulbright Scholar‐in‐Residence at Elizabethtown College.
