Members of the Penn State Altoona community are invited to attend the Women's History Month Kickoff Reception on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

At the reception, you'll have the opportunity to meet women's studies faculty members as well as students currently enrolled in Penn State Altoona's Women's Studies minor program. Information will be available about the minor program and about other upcoming Women's History Month events. Refreshments will be provided.

You are also encouraged to participate in the "Women of Influence Display," honoring a woman who has positively influenced you. To participate, create a simple mini-poster on letter-sized paper (8 1/2 x 11 inches). Suggested content for the poster includes a your name, a photo of the woman being honored, an explanation of why you're honoring her, and anything else you'd like to add. Posters can be submitted to Molly Slep in room 203 of the Hawthorn building throughout the month, though by March 1 is preferred.

The event is sponsored by Penn State Altoona's Women Studies program.
