Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has won the 2012 Liberian Entertainment Award as Best Author. Jabbeh Wesley was selected for the award after a month of voting by the public internationally and was presented the award at a ceremony on January 28 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Liberian Entertainment awards committee honors Liberians who are making a difference in the Liberian community in various categories including best artist, best community crusader, best actor, and more. The committee uses the awards as a forum to raise support for scholarships awarded to Liberian students in the United States and also to give support to Liberian communities in need.
