Jabbeh Wesley chairs/presents panel at Chicago conference

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English, both chaired and presented on the poetry craft panel at the Associated Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) conference held in Chicago, February 29 - March 3, 2012. Wesley presented her paper “What is Home: The Poetics of Negotiating the Old, Re-imagined and the New Adopted Homeland.”

The panel consisted of four poets and professors, who having fled their original home countries due to political conflicts and wars, explored the loss of old homeland and the new, adopted homeland of America. The four writers on the panel included poets from Russia, Germany, Sweden, and Liberia.
