RUINED received nominations from American College Theatre Festival

Penn State Altoona's theatre program is pleased to announced that the spring production of Lynn Nottage's Ruined has been nominated to be taken to the Region II Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival in January 2013.

Congratulations are also in order for student performers who were nominated to compete in the Irene Ryan acting competition at the festival. The nominated students are Chelsea Davis who played Salima, Abdoul-Wahab Bah who played Christian, and Justin Wade who plaed Fortune. Shana Soriano, who played the role of Sophie, was chosen as the alternate nominee.

Students Stace Marie and Sean Tierney received commendations for their lighting design and John Rita received a certificate of merit for his set design.

The production was directed by Bryce Britton, instructor in theatre arts.
