Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor English, was the featured poet at the 44th Annual International conference of the Liberian Studies Association (LSA) held at Cornell University, March 29-31, 2012. She also organized and moderated an all-Liberian student roundtable under the title, “The Liberian/Diaspora Student at an American University & the New Liberia: Challenges & Prospects for the Future.”

Wesley was able to negotiate funding from Cornell’s Institute for African Development to sponsor five graduate and undergraduate students to attend the conference. For further information on the conference and Wesley’s reading, please visit http://iad.einaudi.cornell.edu/ online.
