Penn State Altoona to Host Softball Doubleheader at Nittany Lion Park

ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona softball will host a doubleheader at Beard Field, the Nittany Lion Softball Park, this Wednesday, April 25 against Case Western Reserve University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM in University Park.

The games will mark the first time that Lady Lions softball has ever played at an NCAA Division I facility.

Beard Field is a $10.2 million complex that broke ground in 2010 and features 1,084 permanent seats, including handicap-accessible seating. The stadium is the home of the Penn State University Nittany Lion softball team.

Penn State Altoona is 29-5 this season, including a first place 14-2 record in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.

Spectator parking is available in the East Parking Deck, which is located on Bigler Road, just one block from the field. University parking fees will apply until 5:00 PM. The cost to park is $1.00/hour.

A concession stand will be open for fans throughout the games on Wednesday.
