Students score big at Undergraduate Research Exhibition

Several Penn State Altoona students presented undergraduate research posters at the 2012 University-wide Undergraduate Research Exhibition, held at University Park on April 10.

Danhao Ma won first prize in the Physical Sciences with “Thermoelectric Power and Resistance Measurements of SWCNT-MgB 2 Composites." Dustin Hess took second place with “Magnetic Quenching of Plasmon-photonic Activities in Fe 3 O 4 -Elastimer Composites."

In addition, Pralav Shetty won the Peter T. Luckie Award in Undergraduate Research in the area of Engineering, Physical and Life Sciences while Alexander Kinney was selected for the same award in the area of Human and Behavior Sciences and Liberal Arts. Ma and Hess were also recipients of the Luckie award in their respective areas.
