Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English, was selected as the featured poet to represent Liberia in two separate literary celebrations and Olympic anthologies for the London 2012 Olympics.

Jabbeh Wesley was chosen by Poetry Parnassus 2012, the largest literary festival in the United Kingdom, to be the featured poet representing Liberia in an Olympic anthology The World Record Anthology, which will be published in June 2012 by Bloodaxe Books. One poet from each of the 204 Olympic countries will have a poem in the anthology. A second poem by Jabbeh Wesley will be featured during Poetry Parnassus’ Rain of Poems during Parnassus 2012 in London.

In the second Olympic anthology, The Written World London 2012, Jabbeh Wesley's poem, “Nyanken Hne” will appear. “Nyanken Hne” will also be featured and read on the BBC radio during the Olympics week.

The anthologies will be published and distributed during the London Olympics. More information can be found at www.bloodaxebooks.com/titlepage.asp?isbn=1852249382 online.
