ALTOONA – Lori J. Bechtel-Wherry, chancellor of Penn State Altoona, is the recipient of the 2012 award for Most Supportive College/University President of the Year award for SIFE USA (Students in Free Enterprise).

The national organization bestows the award each year to the college or university leader who did the most outstanding job of supporting his or her SIFE team. The award is based on a two-page letter written by the team outlining the reasons behind the nomination.

A panel of at least three SIFE board members reviewed all applications and selected Bechtel-Wherry as this year’s recipient.

She was recognized at the SIFE USA National Exposition in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 22, 2012, and received a plaque.
