College co-sponsors PA Prison Society birthday celebration

The Penn State Altoona Adult Center and the Blair County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Prison Society are co-sponsoring the 225th Birthday Celebration of the Pennsylvania Prison Society, who advocates for a humane, just and restorative correctional system. William M. DiMascio, Executive Director of the PPS will be the Keynote Speaker. President Judge Jolene Kopriva will also speak and moderate a panel of local experts including Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, Dr. Mike Arter, on issues impacting our correctional system.

The event will be held in the Misciagna Center of Family Arts, Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
