Davis featured on award-winning NPR sports show

Todd Davis, professor of English and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona, was recently featured on NPR's "Only a Game," an award-winning weekly sports show hosted by Bill Littlefield. Davis spoke about the recent collection of essays he compiled by poets with an affinity for the game of basketball. "Fast Break to Line Break: Poets on the Art of Basketball" includes essays by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Dunn and National Book Award finalist William Heyen.

Guests on "Only A Game" have included writer John Updike, commentators Bud Collins and Tim Kurkjian, Muhammad Ali, former senator Bill Bradley, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Davis' interview can be heard by visiting http://onlyagame.wbur.org/2012/08/18/basketball-poetry-book online.

Davis's own poems have been recently featured in special anniversary issues of "Green Mountains Review" and "Poetry East" and have been published in regular issues of "North American Review," "River Styx," "Artful Dodge," "The Journal," and "Appalachia."
