Cutsforth-Huber to perform in Turkey summer 2013

Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber, assistant professor of music at Penn State Altoona, has been invited to perform in Eskisehir, Ankara, and Istanbul, Turkey in the summer of 2013. The nine-day tour is being produced by Distinguished Concerts International New York and is sponsored by the Turkish government. She will perform Adnan Saygun's oratorio Yunus Emre with the Jonathan Griffith Singers and the Turksoy Symphonic Orchestra. Adnan Saygun (1907-1991) is one of Turkey's most honored composers. The oratorio incorporates traditional Turkish folk music, and is based on the life of thirteenth-century Turkish poet Yunus Emre.

The Jonathan Griffith Singers consists of 80-120 accomplished singers from the United States and Canada. The choir is directed by Jonathan Griffith, artistic director and principal conductor of Distinguished Concerts International New York.
